At The Residency, we believe in art as a return to presence. We created this space as a quiet refuge from the noise, where the process matters as much as the outcome, and where the beauty of slowness is protected.
This is our philosophy. This is our promise.
Leah Kohlenberg and Pippa Arend are the artists at the heart of The Residency. Together, they shape the gallery’s identity, exhibitions, and studio culture.
Pippa Arend is an Oregon-based artist, considered to be the innovator of the new expressionistic painting style, “Splash Portraiture.” Her portraits and other works are collected internationally and have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions around the country.
A painter, muralist, and teacher, Leah brings a lifelong commitment to visual storytelling and creative education.
Her work blends color, structure, and spirit, anchoring The Residency in both technique and community.
She's shown internationally and her work is in private and public collections across the globe.
